About
Challenge
The Neuroinclusivity in Housing event aimed to explore and catalyze housing solutions that meet the unique needs of neurodivergent individuals. The event sought to:
- Catalyze action-focused discussions to advance neuroinclusive housing solutions.
- Foster a networked approach to addressing housing challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals.
- Set a new standard for accessibility and inclusivity in event production.
A key challenge was creating a neuroinclusive environment within a space not traditionally designed to meet such needs. This required reimagining the event experience to prioritize sensory accessibility, foster meaningful engagement, and remove barriers to participation, ensuring all attendees—whether in person or virtual—felt welcome, comfortable, and included.

Event Planning & Logistics
Gravity Pull was able to meet the needs of Sinneave Family Foundations guests, and ensured inclusivity with innovative features, including:
- Social battery pins: Allowed attendees to indicate their openness to interaction, fostering a comfortable social environment.
- Low sensory area: Provided a quiet, dimly lit space with earplugs, comfortable seating, focus tools, and eye masks for sensory breaks.
- Focus tools on tables: Enabled attendees to self-regulate and stay engaged during sessions.
- Reduced lighting and noise: Removed background music and adjusted lighting to create a calm atmosphere.
- Reduced clapping at the event:Â attendees were encouraged to raise their hands to show their support to the speakers instead of clapping to further limit the noise pollution at the event.
- Clearly labelled food items and plenty of space for lunch and break meals
- Pre-made blank business cards for connecting with event attendees post event
In addition to the in person event, an interactive online component that engaged virtual attendees with live participation features was offered for those unable to attend in person.
Gravity Pull also implemented a streamlined check-in process to reduce stress for participants.
